Yesterday, 07Jun07, we finalized our candidacy with the Acts 29 Network. We are now officially a part of this network of Gospel-centered, Christocentric, church-planting churches.
After I return from the Tanzania medical mission trip I will be meeting with other regional Acts 29 pastors to look at other possible church plants in the region. On the radar: Birmingham, Macon, Nashville, Memphis.

continue reading »We are in the final steps of partnership with the Acts 29 Network. The last couple of days have seen several communications back and forth between Sojourn and A29. Yesterday, they received a signed covenant from me and they finalized their background checks. We are in the final stage as a “candidate” church. I now have access to church planter coaching and other resources. Sweet! The “Welcome to Acts 29” email was music to my eyes. ;)

The St. Louis Dispatch reports on increasing enmity from parts of the SBC towards the emerging church, especially Acts 29. What’s interesting is that the leader of this battle on the SBC side is not even a pastor, but someone whose “influence comes from his knowledge of the way the Missouri Baptist Convention is set up.” Hmmm. It’s also noteworthy that the enmity seems to be one-way.
