So I had lunch with some friends today and the conversation we had sparked a thought in my head. We were discussion church, they have been searching for years for a church to call home, each time they settle in somewhere, it seems like they find themselves wondering is this really the way church should be? Why is a building important? why does everyone here look like me? Why is everything the same?

These thought resounded with me because of where I have been studying lately. As I have said many times, I am an avid proponent of the Old Testament. To gain a richness to the New Testament a working knowledge of the Old Testament is necessary, even of the sacrifices and tabernacle ordinances. As confusing as they may be, with a proper understanding they lend great understanding of new Testament principles.

Perhaps if it were confessed in Protestant churches more often, there would be a better sense of what unites us all.)

Article from “The Stranger” newspaper in Seattle. 30 staffers go to 30 churches and give their opinion. Some of the opinions are very sobering. I wonder what they would say about Sojourn? The full article is here… http://www.thestranger.com/seattle/Content?oid=242675

“Seattle is godless.

We are, rather famously, one of the least churched cities in North America. It seems that most of us have better things to do on a Sunday morning than go to church. Seattleites would rather take a hike. Or nurse a hangover. Or fire up the bong.
